Digestion System of ruminant pointing out the omasum found in upper area of digestive tract after rumen and reticulum and before abomasum.
  • The omasum is the  third compartment and absorbs water, sodium, phosphorus and residual VFA.
  • It is  lined with folds of tissues arranged in layers or pages in a book. These folds also help increase the absorptive capacity of the tissue.
